Projects
Åsmund Stener Olsen is actively engaged in a variety of projects. Over the past year, he has been performing extensively with Vegard Lund, one of Norway’s most active lutenists and guitarists. The Lund & Olsen duo primarily focuses on 19th-century music, with particular emphasis on the foremost guitar composer of the period, Fernando Sor. They perform on period instruments—copies of guitars by Anton Staufer, René Lacôte, and Louis Panormo made by Bernard Kresse and Simon Ambridge. Their repertoire also includes contemporary music, and they have recently premiered a new work by Arnt Håkon Ånesen, in addition to performing music by Philip Glass and Arvo Pärt at venues such as the Vigeland Mausoleum in Oslo and the National Library in Oslo.Their most recent programs include music written for two guitars in Vienna between 1850 and 1950, music by Arnt Håkon Ånesen, and Norwegian curiosities from the 19th century.
